A successful remake - Planet of the Apes Reviews
This movie is one I would consider a successful remake. Very few remakes pull off the retelling of the original story successfully but this one does.
In this remake is the same premise of an astronaut landing on Ape world. While Ape world was in the 40th century in the original, Ape world in this one is another planet or so it seems. Although the astronaut doesn't discover the remains of the Statue of Liberty and grieves the loss of his society, the astronaut here does find himself in Ape world's version of the Lincoln Memorial at what he thought was Washington D. C.
Overall this movie is a successful remake and I highly recommend it for any video library.
